FEATURES OF METALLOGENY OF THE REGION OF JOINING CONTINENTAL AND OCEANIC SEGMENTS OF THE EARTH’S CRUST OF THE NORTHERN PARTS OF THE HORN OF AFRICA AND INDIAN OCEAN
Purpose. Discussion of the geological settings of the structures of the Horn of Africa and the Arabian-Indian mid-ocean ridge. Methods. Complex interpretation and comparison of data on the composition of bottom sediments obtained in the 19th voyage of the R / V “Academician Vernadsky”, as well as subsequently published.
Findings. It is established that the features of the metallogeny of the continental and oceanic segments of the earth’s crust in the tectonic coupling area of the Horn of Africa and the bottom of the Indian Ocean are determined by two cycles of concentration of Manganese, Copper and Tin – by early Paleozoic and Anthropogenic.
Originality. From the standpoint of the theory of geochemical cycles, the features of metallogeny of the interface between the continental and oceanic segments of the earth’s crust are explained.
Practical implications. In connection with the increased importance of geological prospecting studies of the ocean floor, important specific recommendations have been formulated for determining zones of search for certain ore occurrences.
Keywords: geochemical cycles, biogene sediments, Tin.
