METHODOLOGICAL PRINCIPLES FOR MORPHOLOGICAL AND FACIAL INVESTIGATION OF  THE PREANTARCTIC SEAS OF THE SOUTHERN OCEAN (GEOINFORMATIONAL ASPECT) 
In the article the results of generalization and methodical development of morpholithogenetic research es of the Antarctic seas of the Southern ocean are described. It is confirmed that the sedimentogeness and morphogenezis in this region ocean differ by complex spatial variability, which depends on a vari ety of natural conditions. That is displayed in reliefformation processes and facies systems of different levels. The classical methods of marine geomorphology are adapted to environment of geographical information systems. It was a result of the researches carried out taking into account it algorithmic char acter, internal hierarchy and relation to GIS. The bottom sediments facies of different levels have been defined. Main principles of the facies map construction with using of GIS have been demonstrated.
