GEOLOGICAL STRUCTURE AND FEATURES OF MESOZOIC-CENOZOIC STAGE OF DEVELOPMENT OF A SOUTHERN PART OF THE EAST INDIAN RIDGE, INDIAN OCEAN
The article is devoted to the study of a geological structure of the southern block of East-Indian Ridge or Ninety East Ridge in the western nomenclature. The data of the deep seismic sounding, the continuous seismoacoustic profiling, deep-water drilling were used. The analysis of this data has allowed to receive new representations about a geological structure and development of the southern block. The main conclusion consists that southern part NER has typically block-structure and can represent a relict of a continental crust in which the granite-gneissic layer has remained.
Keywords: graben, morphostructure, fracture, depositional basin, block faulting, tectonic framework.
