Vladimir Leonidovich Lomtev died November 2, 2017. He was the leading researcher, head of the Laboratory of Geodynamics and Marine Geology, IMGI RAS, the author of numerous publications in our journal. His papers greatly expanded the geography of theoretical and practical scientific researches of the World Ocean. He was an example of high professionalism, organization, wide erudition in matters of geology and geophysics.
