IN MEMORY OF YURI FEDOROVYCH MAKOGON – THE DISCOVERER OF NATURAL GAS HYDRATES

On May 26, 2020, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Yuri Fedorovych Makogon, a world-renowned Ukrainian scientist who dedicated all his scientific activity to a new promising energy source - natural gas hydrates, passed away.

Yuri Fedorovich was born on May 15, 1930 in the village of Vesele in the Kherson region, in the family of rural intellectuals, descendants of indigenous farmers.

The pioneer of natural gas hydrates research paid business visits to 36 countries, spoke at 27 international congresses and conferences, lectured at 48 leading universities around the world.

The bright memory of Yuri Fedorovich will forever remain in our hearts.
